Opel will spend the available CarPlay Apple and Android systems … – Digital Journal



 Opel announced its intention to begin offering in its range of cars the integration of “smart” phones through Apple and Android Auto CarPlay systems.
 
   
 

The new generation Opel Astra, which is scheduled to premiere Frankfurt Motor Show in September, will be the first model to offer Android and Apple Auto CarPlay, followed by the other ranges, city dwellers to the Insignia, in the following months, adds the German brand in a statement.

The Android Auto is developed around Google Maps, Google Now and the ability to communicate with Google, while providing access to a wide ‘ecosystem’ of audio applications and messaging including WhatsApp, Skype, Google Play Music, Spotify and readers of podcasts.

But the Apple CarPlay in turn, selects a variety of applications and places accessible on the touch screen of the car or via Siri voice command.

The driver can therefore make and receive phone calls, send and receive messages as well as control music sources in a simple way.
