Android M with greater control over the app permissions – Portal Technology

Android M

Currently, users have greater control over the permissions of each application on Android systems, leading to applications malicious purposes will eventually get the extra permissions they need, just because the user wants a specific functionality.

Today the user only has the option to accept or not the permissions requested by the application. If you accept all the permissions, the application is installed; if for any reason refuse that particular permission is given to the application, you must cancel the installation of it. There is no way to customize access for each app that is installed.

However, Google seems to be working to stop it since, according to some sources, the next version of the operating system will give the user greater control over permissions requested by the application.

In version 4.3 Jelly Bean there was an option that allowed control the permissions of each application and enable / disable each user as wanted, the “App Ops”. This feature eventually disappeared during the release of version 4.4.2 KiKat, for safety reasons, according to Google, as it could cause errors if used constantly.

According to forecasts the Android M should be presented on 28 and 29 May at the Google I / O conference, to be held in San Francisco
