The company behind the Opera has a division called Opera Mediaworks , and its website published a report showing that the Android leads not only traffic web but now also revenue from online mobile advertising.
During the first quarter of 2015, Android platform was accounting for 45.8% of revenue generated through advertising. But to achieve this number, Android had 65.17% of online traffic. Since Apple’s iOS, on the other hand, it was able to generate revenues somewhat close to the Android, of 45.44%, through just 22:34% of mobile web traffic .
Other numbers that can impress – negatively – are Microsoft’s. The BlackBerry accounted for 1.87% of mobile traffic resulting in 1.96% of the generated mobile advertising revenues in the quarter. Thus, the company surpassed the Redmond company ability to generate profits through advertising, since the Windows Phone won 12:16% of traffic via mobile devices and generated just 0:09% of all revenues stemmed browsers of mobile devices.
Mobile ads on videos are growing rapidly, and now account for 15% of advertising impressions on the devices. This is a large increase compared to last year, this type of advertising won only 2.5% of the ads that were displayed on these devices
Among the platforms, iOS is the most popular among the impressions of advertising videos. 87% of Apple users watch these videos in full, against 77% of Android users.
