Meet applications that consume more resources on Android – Pplware

All users can identify on your mobile device applications that more resources consume. But beyond these there are other chronic applications that the user is well behaved but actually are true machines consume resources.

To give an accurate users of which applications consume more resources on Android now came an intensive study and showing the truth when it comes to applications and resources consumption, in several different areas.

 android_1

The applications that populate the ecosystem of mobile devices are one of its strengths. They allow users to expand the capacity utilization of its equipment and also eventually help make them even better tools.

But the use of external applications to the company that manages this ecosystem has some disadvantages that begin noted over time.

The consumption of resources which often occur uncontrollably, the lead users to view the performance and reduced the increased response times or simply decreased battery life for very low values.

The data of this study were collected in the last quarter of 2014 Android users who have antivirus AVG installed on their terminals. These same data were then evaluated and analyzed and the findings have emerged.

 android_10

The study showed that AVG now – AVG Android App Performance Report – has shown something that everyone already knew or at least suspected. The main applications that consume resources in Android are Facebook, Spotify and Instagram

Top 10 -. Performance degradation

These three applications that occupy the first places are present in other lists that arise in the study, always associated with high consumption (battery, memory, space and mobile data / network)

 android_11

But the AVG did not simply consider the most direct parameters and found several variables and resources. In addition to the battery, memory, mobile data / network and others.

It is interesting that some of the applications dedicated to optimize resource consumption end up being present in these lists and often at the top.

It is also important to reveal the presence of Samsung in some of the tops, showing that there is some work to be done by the company in this area.

to exploit the study showed that AVG and see how is the world of Android applications. These are the examples that highlight the negative, showing that applications that thousands of users use in their day-to-day deserved to be optimized and adapted to be more adjusted to the equipment offer.

It is also interesting see the behavior of other applications in areas less investigated and evaluate their performance against what would be expected. Games and applications dedicated to help the user to better manage their resources end up having here a place of prominence and visibility that was not expected or desired

Google offers Android for Work – Exame Informática

The Android for Work program was announced yesterday and describes a Google’s effort to be able to offer enhanced security and more operating system management options so that it can be used in compliance with the corporate security policies.

The Google idea is to allow the smartphone has a separation between personal apps and each user’s work apps and a special app Android for Work make management tools such as email, calendar and contacts.

Blackberry, Citrix, SAP and Adobe are among the two dozen partners with the Google account on this project, reports the Reuters . Google also plans to have a new version of Google Play, one apps store where IT management of a company may disclose apps for the entire segment.

This should help Google to enter the corporate segment, where traditionally the security experts choose to use Apple or Blackberry. Rajen Seth, responsible for the product at Google, said that more than one billion people brings the smartphone in your pocket for the job. The idea is that these people can use this device also work.

Remember that Apple recently reached an agreement with IBM to create business apps for iPad and iPhone, improve the synchronization of Apple products with the cloud of IBM and the IBM consultants recommend Products “apple” enterprise customers.

Android for Work, the focus is the security of company data – Pplware

The boundaries between work and personal life are increasingly more blurred. This maximum applies increasingly on mobile devices and the equipment we used indiscriminately in both worlds and sometimes intersect unintentionally.

To separate these two realities and apply restrictive measures access to company data, Google has now announced the launch of Android for Work.

This is not a new idea in the Android universe and was presented at the last conference I / O Google.

At that time there was still nothing very concrete to present, but Google has shown interest in creating mechanisms that would ensure that the confidentiality of the data of the companies to which employees have access not to mix directly with the applications that they can run on their personal devices.

The problem is reflected in the ease with which today allows any employee use their personal devices for work and thus provide access to data often sensitive in machines that are not protected and with the necessary security policies.

The Google proposal is now in the form of Android for Work and is an ecosystem that encompasses applications, user profiles and even security policies to ensure maximum security of data and information of the companies where they are accessed in equipment outside the sphere of business.

To implement Android for Works Google will settle this structure in the profile system Android Lollipop already gives users of this operating system.

This way anyone can use your personal device Android on functions that have associated to your job, managing to separate completely and securely access the data.

android_for_work_1

But because the idea is not to limit the Google Android for Works to the latest models and its latest operating system, there is a solution that can be used when the devices are at least Android versions, from the Ice Cream Sandwich to the KitKat.

For these situations, and because these versions of Android do not offer the system so profiles native, Google will provide a specific version of Android for Work, dedicated to providing secure access to email, calendar, contacts, documents, browsing and job applications, always with the approval of the company’s management team.

This team will be responsible for defining security policies to be applied in each of the applications, marking clearly what resources that each can access. It is also your responsibility to define which applications to be used, and which are installed at “Android for Work” version of Google Play, and what the limits of each.

To give a critical mass and to better integration of this new ecosystem, Google has teamed up with a set of company, each dedicated to a specific area.

So we Citrix, SAP, BlackBerry and others in the aspect of management, Samsung, HTC and Motorola on the slope of the devices and the Box, Adobe and Salesforce in part of creating applications for these systems. Clear that Google, with its different offers also has a position in each of the aforementioned areas.

 android_for_work_2

With the arrival of Android Works for Google preparing to enter the business world more seriously, marking a clear division between personal and business use of Android devices at the same time giving tools for companies to manage much more controlled manner the devices bind to their data structures and access your information.

This is an area where there are already other heavyweight competitors, which already have well-implemented solutions, as is the case of Microsoft.

There are also other companies like Apple and IBM, which are beginning to define its position in the business market and also want their market share.

Google’s advantage is great, very high because of the spread of Android, whether in business or in the choice that users make to their day-to-day equipment.

The Android is now Works ensures that these two worlds can cross freely and uncompromising way with equipment that uses the mobile operating system from Google

Android and iOS “choke” competition in the smartphone market – TeK.sapo

Windows Phone. BlackBerry 10. Firefox OS. Sailfish. Tizen OS. None of these operating systems is relevant enough in the market for smartphones given that in the last quarter of last year Android and iOS accounted for 96.3% of smart phones shipped to retail.

The numbers are advanced by IDC and show a “choke” in the mobile device market. In a statement the same consultant says that Google and Apple software were close to the “total control” in the smartphone market.

The same percentage, 96.3%, also relates to the total of smartphones shipped to stores with iOS and Android throughout the year 2014, which further confirms the duopoly that currently exists in this segment market.

“What will require a more careful observation is how the two operating systems behave in 2015 and subsequent years. Now that Apple filed in the phablets market, there are few opportunities for the company to account. However, Samsung felt a strong stagnation in 2014, forcing the Android to rely more on small vendors to ensure large sales volumes, “said Ramon Llamas manager.

The IDC says there was not a fight for third place of the most popular operating systems, there was before “skirmishes” with Windows Phone to supplant BlackBerry 10 and competition.

And it will be between these two players one of the most interesting fights as Microsoft continues to strengthen its presence in low cost segment and the BlackBerry provides ship 10 million smartphones by having based on the new BB10 – which includes support for Android applications, for example through the Amazon Apps store.

Despite the releases of the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus iPhone, iOS slipped from 15 1% in late 2013 to 14.8% in late 2014

android_ios

Ramon Llamas, IDC said that with the new iPhone 6 iPhone 6 Plus and Apple will have new business opportunities. Moreover, Llamas evaluates the Samsung referring to is currently the undisputed leader in the Android space -. But the market met and gave way to smaller manufacturers

The Windows Phone had a fall 2013 but for 2014 with the arrival of Windows 10 is expected that sales of devices grow. However, for significant growth, we must “steal” space to Android or iOS. Is this going to happen
