LG and Sony install Microsoft applications on Android tablets – publico

                 


                         
                     

                 

 
                         

Microsoft wants more people to use their applications and services, even on rival operating systems. The company made new partners joining another 20 names to the list of those manufacturers pre-install Microsoft products in some tablets Android.


                     


                          Sony and LG are the best known names, and the only global companies, the list of new partners, including European, South American and Asian manufacturers. Back in March, Microsoft had made similar agreements with Samsung, which leads the market smartphone , Dell and nine local manufacturers, among which the Portuguese company JP-Inspiring Knowledge, known by computers Magellan.

These manufacturers will include in their devices versions of Word, Excel and PowerPoint, as well as the application of OneNote notes, online hosting service onedrive, and Skype, call service via Internet that Microsoft owns. In the case of LG, pre-installation will be a new tablet that will hit the market, while Sony will now include those products in the Xperia Z4 model.

Pre-install applications and services on devices is a known way to foster adoption. The success of browser Internet Explorer was due at the end of the 1990s, the fact that this part of the Windows operating system, which was then present in the overwhelming majority of personal computers (the practice led to intervention of the European Commission, competition issues).

Microsoft also announced a Windows 10 feature, the next version of the operating system, allowing users to connect to computer mobile phones iPhone or Android (in addition to Windows Phone), facilitating the synchronization of files and the installation of Microsoft applications. The personal assistant Cortana will also be available for mobile phones competition, although in a more limited version.
