Android N: our first impressions and major changes – Tudocelular.com

The previous version of Android N, the next major update of Android, was released by Google a few days so that developers can test their applications and new features, but also It allows enthusiasts to play with the new version without any restrictions. Remember, however, that only a few Nexus line models are supported, as follows:. Nexus 5X, Nexus 6, Nexus 6P, Nexus 9, Nexus 9G, Nexus Player and Pixel C

We want to make it clear from the start that, because it is a previous version of Android N, some features are being tested by Google completely beta way, and can not get the final version.

notifications Center

This, perhaps, is the first change that users perceive to install Android on the mobile N. The central notifications went through some very generous changes and now has a much more cool layout than before. Now you can slide the central notifications and five shortcuts Quick appear before you need to scroll all the center to see the settings.

The big change, however, does not stop there. From now on users will be able to respond to emails and messaging applications as the Telegram, WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger and other direct central notifications without opening these apps to do this. As it is still a beta version of Android, some bugs may occur, such as messages that are not displayed in full – if you get three messages from a single contact, for example, only the first may appear

.

Another cool thing about this feature is that you can also listen to voice messages directly from the central, without opening applications. We tested this feature with WhatsApp and Telegram, and here everything worked perfectly.

Settings menu

Android N settings menu is much more intelligent and yes, this is very good news for those who do not like to waste time browsing the settings. Now he gives you some settings suggestions; if you have not put a password on your device, for example, the phone will warn you to put a password is more secure. You have not added your Gmail account? He will also warn you.

But one of the major changes in the settings menu is the practicality navigate between settings . Now when you open a random adjustment – we will use the Bluetooth, for example – a top bar will appear, and just tap it or slide the page to the right all other settings will be displayed, and then you can quickly switch to the screen settings, notifications, sound, storage and any other.

Multitasking and split screen

Yes, Google finally decided to release the feature to split the screen to use two applications at the same time on the Android N. This feature is native and is independent of any changes made by any manufacturer. But again, we want to make clear:. This is a beta version of Android N and many bugs may occur when using this feature

With native applications of Google, the split screen feature to get more multitasking N on the Android works perfectly well. Both in portrait and in landscape you can adjust the screen size for each of the apps, but if you try to add some other app (like Instagram) it no longer works right and can even “ bugar “the device completely.

to activate it just touch the multitasking icon, choose any application, tap and hold it and drag it up. A blank space appears at the bottom with the other applications that are open in the background, and then you can choose one to use at the same time.

Display Settings

Another nice addition of Google was to include changes in the size of the screen display. Now, for those who have more difficulty seeing small things, you can change the size of what is displayed on the device screen. Just go to Setup & gt; Screen & gt; Size of the display and choose which size best for you.

Remember that the larger the size of the display, the less information you have on the screen. On the other hand, the smaller the size of the display, more information will be shown.

The data saving mode is pretty much a “lifeboat” for those who have limited data packets. With it, applications that use mobile data are not sending pushs the time while run in the background. Thus, e-mail applications and messengers like WhatsApp do not use as much data as run in the background, and messages will be updated when you open the same.

The downside to this is that you also not receive notifications, and may end up delaying some e-mail and / or message.

night Mode and Do not disturb

There is a secret menu in Android called “Tuner System UI” where we teach how to unlock it in the video earlier this video. There are some interesting settings, but we will focus on two main.

The Night Mode makes the colors more yellow (warm) and leaves out the blue tones (cold), which tired the view . This has been widely discussed by users and businesses simply by helping users to use their mobile devices during the night in bed with the lights off.

show a nicer screen, the user tends to not get bored quickly with the activated night mode, but anyway we need to use the devices (especially at night) with a certain restraint.

You Do not disturb, in turn, gains shortcuts in central notifications. Just you turn down the volume until the last so that its icon appears, and then you can program the phone to not display any notification until you turn off this setting or for a certain time.

Conclusions

We are talking about a previous version of Android N and we want to make this very clear. A number of bugs have been found for us the TudoCelular, but nothing worrying. Some third-party applications may not run properly by the lack of APIs, but nothing that some updates do not resolve.

The new modes and features, especially multitasking, appear quite robust and promises improvements in use Android devices going forward, then we expect Google to make some small adjustments so that everything works perfectly.

the official date and even the name of Android N were revealed, so we can only wait until Google to give us more information in the coming months. It is expected that more updates this prior to be released until the final version arrives officially, then just continue on the TudoCelular.com that we will bring all the news.

Nintendo Miitomo is released globally for Android and iOS – Tudocelular.com

After a successful launch in Japan earlier this month, Nintendo’s first app designed for mobile devices, Miitomo, is available for download in the United States and other countries in its world premiere, confirm had been promised. The app debuted with great success racking up 1 million downloads in just three days.

Although it is not yet yielding profits, the app is doing very well for Nintendo so far. This is not only the first step in mobile applications, but also the large relaunch of their rewards program, now called My Nintendo, and the two programs work hand in hand.

Miitomo is an app free-to-play social that allows players to create and customize avatars called “Miis”. Using your Mii, the player can talk to each other and play mini-games. The goal is to earn coins and tickets increase your Mii.

The really curious thing about the success of Miitomo in Japan is that they only began to announce it a day or two ago. The mobile market is huge in Japan, and is practically part of the normal cost of business for a company to make a series of TV commercials for its most recent major applications. All this is so common that if you see a commercial for a game that is not in the mobile phone in Japan, is probably one of Nintendo products. Well, this is now past. The first game for the company’s mobile phone received the first TV commercial.

The premise is a girl who checks the Miitomo and discovers a shocking secret about her friend. She goes to school to confirm, and after a quick joke, the commercial ends. The highlight here is that Nintendo puts emphasis as the fact that with Miitomo users can know things about his friends who would never have known otherwise. And, well, they are not wrong. Users who already have given the application have already learned many things about your friends, such as the report on the Touch Arcade. Nothing too revealing or amazing, but curious and fun things about the people with whom we interact.

Miitomo is now available on the App Store and Play Store. There is no official list of countries with availability, and can not install on our devices, but maybe it’s just a matter of time. We will keep readers up to date.

In addition to the rapid response, the update brought more features to the app. Some of them are multiple selection, optimizing some actions of the talks. For example, now when the user clicks on a photo of a group or a contact he will see some options, such as archive, delete or mark as unread.

The coolest part of this tool is that it is can select multiple conversations at once, regardless of whether they have already been read or silenced.

iPhone SE is attracting many Android users – Pplware

The new SE iPhone goes to show that the market for smartphones is faithful to the traditional models and that the changes are not always well received.

With its smaller screen than it is now standard, will attract many users. But what you are seeing is that you are able to steal many users to Android and to bring them back to the Apple universe.

 iPhone SE

Many have criticized Apple’s decision again focusing on smaller sized equipment when being standard are the larger screens.

If the main target of this equipment were the Apple users that were in the larger models, truth is that a study of Slice Intelligence shows that there is a large membership of Android users and the SE iPhone is proving to be a wise choice.

SE iPhone matters to Android users

the first iPhone SE sales analyzes show a strong membership of users who are already Apple customers. It is here that most of the buyers come from.

But a new reality can be seen in these figures. 15% of customers that come from outside the Apple universe, show that this could be the smartphone that many expected

 iPhone Android SE

When compared to the iPhone 6S sales these values reverse and upgrade seems more natural for Apple users than to Android users.

the sales success of the iPhone SE

Another interesting number that Slice Intelligence showed it was the sales of the latest smartphone from Apple. In this field the iPhone SE proved to be far from the success of other releases.

When compared to the launch of the iPhone 6, this new release only reaches a very low 3%, which leaves far of Apple’s other successful moments.

iPhone SE Apple

But the truth is that the heydays of Apple are getting distant and already at the launch of iPhone 6S sales success was relative, reaching only half of the previous one.

Apple seems to have agreed to bring back to the market a 4-inch model. It is to attract users of competition and introduce them into their ecosystem.

Microsoft updates Next Lock Screen for Android (since Windows … – Tudocelular.com

If there is a point where both users of Windows Phone as Android and iOS agree is that, again and again, Microsoft seems to devote more attention to apps and resources of competitors than their own platform. Apps that work better, are more optimized and bring more features to features that Microsoft invests in the Android and iOS, it is strange that it runs Windows Phone leaving aside. The reason is a mystery, since it would be natural to expect that Microsoft would use its own system as a showcase for your apps and services, bringing exclusives within Windows Phone as a way to attract new users. Give a taste, so to speak.

Well, it’s not what happens, which can be one of the major reasons for the low market penetration, positioned in a faraway Third, although cool news have recently been announced, if changes in Cortana and new features in Windows Hello. One of the great examples of this is the Windows 10 Mobile lock screen, with very few possibilities for customization, perhaps because Microsoft dedicate its efforts on Next Lock Screen for Android, which now arrives in its third version.

Next lock screen is a little heavier stuff than the default Android lock screen, but really adds some cool features that can avoid the need to unlock the screen simple functions, and is highly configurable. Well that Microsoft could create a version of the app for your own system, is not it?

With the end of the patent wars in the mobile field development awaken new judicial wars. The legal dispute between Oracle and Google begins to gain media force since 2012 has been demanding. At issue is the lack of authorizations given by Oracle to Google to use Java APIs in its mobile operating system Android.

For April 27 is scheduled a major hearing before the trial in which Oracle will officiate the claim for damages of 9300 million dollars (almost double of the Alphabet profits last quarter). This value was calculated by an investigator hired by Oracle, and can be split into two major parts: $ 475 million in damages and 8829 million corresponding to the portion of benefits obtained by Android through applications, content, and profits generated by advertising, which correspond the Java

Google is not in accordance with these calculations and insists that Oracle only match a portion of the profits that are only directly related to the programming code fragments that infringe copyright.

Oracle, which bought Sun Microsystems and stayed with the Java software in 2010, complains that Google has helped unduly 37 Java APIs, while on the other side of the barricades Google affirmed that made use . just the same

6 features that the iPhone is better than Android devices – Tudocelular.com

It may seem shocking to some, but the truth is that in some basic aspects of the iPhone simply more efficient than Android. And this does not mean that Android is bad, but Samsung could learn a lot from your competition in these features.

Check out 10 basic ways in which the iPhone surpasses its competitor.

the shortcut to the previous application

Let us agree: nobody here is no Hawkeye with his fingers to the point of always hit the option we want on the screen. And in these situations (and when you return to work after checking a notification on Facebook), the shortcut is a welcome innovation. It optimizes and streamlines multiple operations on a device that can only carry one at a time.

The Android has a similar function but is not “universalized” or as accurate as the iPhone. And it’s definitely not elegant look on the Recent list or use the back button, because in some cases you just return to a previous option of the same app.

The previous screen return for slide

Okay that iPhones do not have a standard back button as Android (though it is not 100%), but we have to replace it does can be better than him. Slipping his touch sideways in apps built vertically causes it to return to the previous screen (which has already been covered by another brought this direction). It is an intuitive and easy to understand system. Even the fact of your finger is already on the screen for selecting any way just makes this more enjoyable to use system.

Read Control the progress bar

Because this function is more efficient in iOS is more than clear. Have to pull all the text you are reading down after finishing it is an inconvenience without size. But fortunately the iPhone circumvents it elegantly:. The progress bar not only allows the user to return with a touch to the beginning of the text, as progress to specific pieces of text much faster

Text Correction need

Enter for a long time on an Android is complicated because the editor is inaccurate when you need to select a specific letter in the middle of a word. But the iPhone, which is a more like includes a magnifying glass which completely fixes the problem of imprecision, allowing minor changes more easily. All though the iPhone autocorretor creates hilarious situations, but this would be another topic and does not affect text editor that much.

The Command Center

Command Center is an item that speaks for itself. There are so many utilities to a slip up away it is even difficult to tell. With a command, you have the option to turn on / off Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Airplane mode, Night, and lock the screen rotation. This is aside from the option to open the flashlight, Clock, Calculator, Camera, and still control the music and the volume and brightness of the cell. And in turn, these discount the addenda that may be brought by Jailbreak.

Meanwhile, Android, you need to find and select one of the following options in their respective areas to manage them. Not the most efficient system of all.

The mode Low Battery

While Android has a very similar way to that of Apple, in one respect he loses: it is temporary. On an Android, similar mode is turned on when the battery reaches 20%, which is welcome, but you must turn it off manually, resulting in start questioning about why your smartphone “lost” functions suddenly. On the iPhone, so the battery is recharged to 80%, the mode is off, avoid this confusion.

Not everything Apple does is right, but at this point, many consider higher iPhone, mainly by intuitiveness and ease of use. Do you agree?

new Android is the privilege of those who have mobile launch or top … – UOL

  • Disclosure

If you are the owner of a smartphone or tablet with Android should know that one of the biggest disappointments with the operating system is the delay to update it to the latest version. In case it is 6.0 named Marshmallow, which was launched by Google in October last year. But recently the company released the previous version, the Lollipop (5.0 and 5.1) is that it is the most used in the world today.

Lollipop, representing 36.1% of the market, only got that post now, 16 months after its launch. Already the percentage of devices with Marshmallow is a measly 2.3%. Although that number should grow –já that manufacturers are still updating their modelos–, the responsibility for slow release of upgrades is not unique to Google, but a process involving the manufacturers and even operators.

the effort might be one step closer to being outdated, as a new version of Android, provisionally called N, is already testing for developers and should be released probably in the second half.

Why is it important to update the operating system of your device? In addition to a new version to solve important issues of security and performance, they bring new features. Marshmallow, for example, comes with Now on Tap –that improves personal assistant Google Now–, payment with fingerprint and a way of advanced energy saving, among others.

The manufacturers via rule adopts the following position on this issue: update to the latest operating system only top of the line appliances and hopefully, some of the middle line. Input cell, no way. And the few who earn the new Android end up waiting months to receive the update. The time varies according to the country where the model was launched.

It also occurs that newer devices just “sticking the queue” and now come standard with the new Android. In 2016, examples of this are the recently launched Galaxy S7 and S7 edge, Samsung. The G5, top of the line LG, due in stores in April and will come with Android 6.0.

One of the examples that are beyond the rule is Motorola, which has updated its entire line of devices with Android 6.0. The exception are some models of Moto E with 8 GB of internal memory, which could not bear to run the system. The Droid Turbo, launched in 2014, is another who does not have the Marshmallow, but the company says it is working on updating.

Anatomy of a system

The factors that influence the delay of the update are many. Most of them are technical, as there are many steps so that they get to the owners of a device with Android.

Soon after the announcement of a new Android, the system source code is sent for evaluation of chips and cell manufacturers. They will see which processors and devices from your line have the minimum capacity to run the system. After each manufacturer makes the necessary customizations to the system, including own resources and sometimes changing part of the visual identity. The result of Android adapted is called “skin”.

Another important step goes through the locked handsets to operate on a telephone operator, who need to make adjustments to their devices. Are incorporated more changes to the telephony bands work well in the system.

It is common for unlocked phones to be updated before they were purchased under contract with operators. Not only the question of testing, but because some apps that come standard (and can not be deleted) are owned by the telephone company and may need to be updated to not cause conflicts in the new system. It is what he has heard the report by questioning TIM, Claro, Vivo and Hi on the subject, dividing sometimes this “guilt” with the manufacturers.

“The own applications operators demand development, the manufacturer cell, a specific software version. it is part of this process perform tests to validate the updates, seeking to ensure the optimal functioning of devices and maintain the quality of connection to the network, “said the official response of the TIM. “Each manufacturer operates a specific rule for updates. The period for the release reaches the customer depends on the interval at which new versions are appropriate to the various device models,” said Vivo.

After step operators, tests are performed; if errors are found, they go back to change phase. If everything is right, the next step is the certification with regulatory authorities in each country and Google itself. If approved, the final step is to send the update “over the air” (via wi-fi in Android itself) or by the manufacturer itself management programs.

Money also influences?

commercial reasons may also make a difference. He says Van L. Baker, Gartner consultant specializing in the mobile market:. He believes it is not advantageous for manufacturers and operators to advance in the race for upgrade because it is not something advantageous for them

“At launch system, the manufacturer has to make the decision to want to do it. they need to make changes in their skins, submit it to the operators, which have their own processes and need to check whether they are comfortable to release it on their devices. this process will against the interests of the operators or manufacturers because instead of updating the phones that you have, they will want you to buy a new device, “he says.

He also cites the instability of the Android system as another factor complicating the process. “Most Android users who try to use the new versions is a problem in it. It is very rare that a new version works well on all devices,” he argues.

The manufacturers, in turn, disagree and they say do what they can to upgrade as soon as possible the greatest number of devices, although it is very difficult to find in their sites information on which models have or will have updates.

Motorola defends his stance use Android without much interference from the manufacturer as an important factor for progress in this regard updates. And when they add things, it is to try to bring advantages to users. “The Moto X was first product to bring voice commands without touching the device, and this feature has improved independent of the Android upgrade. The camera Moto G has evolved quite well,” says Renato Arradi, Motorola product manager.

Other manufacturers heard point operators as it takes the co-authors. “As manufacturers, testing the updates in their products, operators also have an approval process to ensure smooth operation on its own network. Sony cherishes the user experience, and for this reason the brand only releases Android update when you are 100% satisfied with the result, “said the statement sent to Sony UOL .

LG will on the same line. “This process depends not only on release of LG, but also an adaptation by operators. LG is one of the companies most concerned with operating system upgrade of smartphones and care in carrying out a process which ensures maximum quality software upgrade to a premium experience of our customers. “

Sought, Samsung and Google did not respond to the report.

Android N solves annoying lag when connecting to a network or take a picture – Tudocelular.com

Since the preview of Android N was released, we are gradually realizing several new features. Today’s solves one of the biggest sources of Android user complaints:. lag when connecting to a network or take a picture

This problem is present from the first version of Android. It is because all of a large portion of the applications are running in the background waiting for changes in device status.

If your phone is offline, when you connect to a network many applications immediately begin to check for updates, notifications, etc.

it’s basically the same happens when you take a picture. When capturing is performed, some applications realize this and realize their processes. A photo backup service, for example, is constantly monitoring it and then begin to send the capture to the cloud.

If you have a powerful smartphone without many applications installed, you may never have experienced this problem. On the other hand, a good portion of users to repent after connecting to the Internet.

The big change in Android N is the application will need to wait your turn to make your processes instead of all the same time . In addition to avoiding those annoying lags, the novelty should also reduce bandwidth consumption and possibly a little battery.

This is a good example of the kind of news that Android N brings. As it was with Marshmallow, this great update addresses performance and stability rather than new features. Perhaps the biggest news from the user point of view is support for direct interaction of notifications.

It is possible that many of the changes do not take effect immediately, since some things need to be implemented by developers. In this particular case, Google has taken some steps to encourage the implementation as soon as possible. The curious who have a Nexus device can now experience the Android N following our tutorial.

Still it is not on top of all the news of Android N? Check out our review of the new version of Google’s system to be launched in the second half:

With the module Android N-ify You may have many of the features in this version premiered. Currently, only heading in the sections of the System Configuration menu and double tap feature in the recent button to return to the previous app have been implemented, but the MrWasdennnoch developer of XDA forum reported that several other new features will be included soon in your module to Xposed, including:

  • navigation side menu on the system settings screen
  •

  • Use the Recent button to switch quickly between open apps
  •

  • Improved Twelve feature when the phone is in motion
  •

  • Emergency Information on the lock screen
  •

  • Night mode
  •

  • New layout notifications screen
  •

The module was tested on smartphones with CyanogenMod 13 (ROM based on Android alternative Marshmallow). However, the novelty can also be used on phones with Lollipop, since the system does not escape much of Google AOSP code, as in the case of TouchWiz. For those who have smartphone from Samsung or LG, the module can not work properly due to the major changes made to the interface for these manufacturers.

Other features like the split window switch DPI and data compressor can not be implemented, while Google does not release the complete code. This should only happen when Android N officially get the Nexus line in the coming months.
