Google will announce the next version of Android at Google I / O event will happen this week. Called for now Android M , the next interaction little robot system should not to be named until the official launch later in the year. Thus, we begin to wonder what the name of sweet or dessert that the search giant is preparing to version 6.0. We can think of some possibilities, such as Marshmallow, M & M’s, Milk Shake, Muffin, among others. But according to data found in AOPS code development system, Google has been using the name Macadamia Nut Cookie (or just MNC to facilitate the nomenclature of Android).
We have take into account that this probably will not be the official name of the system. With the development of KitKat, several times we saw the name Key Lime Pie (KLP) be used by the company. The same was repeated with Lollipop, where it was found reference to the name Lemon Meringue Pie (LMP) in the AOSP code. Thus, we can expect to be released in October, Android 6.0 brings a simpler and trade name, like those mentioned above.
For those who are curious to know why the use of this name by Google, Macadamia cookies are well known in the United States, especially when used together with the chocolate recipes. As part of the group of walnuts and chestnuts, macadamia offers a unique flavor to cooking, being very sought for the production of new desserts. It helps reduce the risk of heart disease and levels of bad cholesterol and triglycerides, not to mention it’s a great source of protein, fiber, minerals and vitamins.
Just like the Key Lime Pie and Lemon desserts Meringue Pie, the Macadamia Nut Cookies would make a great name for the system, if it were restricted to the US market. In several countries such names do not represent big impact, which makes the Google search something more ‘universal’. So what is the bet of you to the next name of the little robot system? Marshmallow is a strong possibility, but the Milk Shake name has more commercial strength, who knows. If Google decides to return to close a partnership with a company, as it did with the Nestle in 2013, then use the name M & M’s to Android 6.0 would bring a great appeal to the company’s system.
