Google has bet much on its mobile operating system Android, with new versions being released, not just to fix bugs, but also to bring new features and improving some existing ones.
After recently being released version 5.1 of the Lollipop here comes another, even just for a few Nexus, which is now available for installation
The new version, Android 5.1.1 Lollipop arrived in the last hours to the central repository and is now available for download.
This version had already been launched a few days ago for the Nexus Player, which also indicated that very soon would be to get over this update.
Google began by launching the Lollipop 5.1.1 for two of its tablet, the Nexus 7 and the Nexus 10, and only in the Wi-Fi versions, already falling out versions with 3G connections.
It is also expected that then arise versions for all other equipment that already have support for Lollipop, also first on the Wi-Fi versions and then in versions with connection to mobile operators ( GSM / LTE) .
For now only the Nexus 10 has released the OTA update process. Any of the two models of the Nexus 7 still waiting for Google to start the process of updating the air.
A curious fact was Google’s choice to have released first this new version for older models of the tablets, leaving out their latest models like the Nexus 9 or 6.
Probably this decision is to ensure extensive testing for this new version, which will only bring correction of some bugs and problems found in version 5.1.
In the coming days should be extended to support other devices and initiates the provision of processes for OTA all equipment.
Anyone who has a Nexus 7, 2012 or 2013 model, and do not want to wait for the OTA update, you can perform this process manually update by following the instructions we have already presented (Mac or Windows).
