The YouTube app for Android received its New Year’s update and up to version 11. So far it seems that there is not much to give, but the changelog is not completely empty . The feed subscribers channels finally shows bookmarks to the videos you’ve watched , and now there are a few subtle tweaks to the interface that are worth some mention.
There is a feature on YouTube which displays a dial on the top left of videos you have ever seen. It’s just a little black box with the word “ASSISTED” in capital letters. . There are several screens where these flags are intentionally not shown, but they can be found almost everywhere
Interestingly, there was a place where they could not be seen: the Signatures tab. Since this screen should contain nothing but videos of your favorite content creators, only makes sense that you would like to accompany you’ve ever seen, but it is very helpful to recognize which videos are new or even which of old you’re still procrastinating.
The latest version finally brings the Signatures tab in line with the rest of the app and brands watched videos. However, the marking is still inexplicably unreliable, so she will not always appear and can sometimes disappear videos that have already been granted, but at least has a chance to appear now.
Another subtle change made for subscriptions guide (and possibly also in other screens) brings improved usability. Now the application maintains its scroll position after an orientation change on the mobile device. That is, by rotating the device between portrait and landscape no longer sends the user back to the top of the list.
The application finally made a small change to color of their the top buttons, which It includes the search button, Google Cast and menu. They received a change of striking color, changing from black to white, matching the app name text color and the selected tab icon at the time. There is also a new color for the charging icon, which went from gray to blue.
Like many upgrades last week, this seems to have enough focus in changes aimed at visual rather than bug fixes and other performance improvements. There is still not known whether any further changes, but as soon as we know how to keep the readers informed.
