Google can access 74% of Android remotely – News Minute to (press release)

According to The Next Web, a document prepared by a New York court shows that Google can do remote reset to older versions of Android, if a judge so decides.

The document, which talks about disk encryption’s impact on the access of the authorities, said that devices that run Android 5.0 or later are impossible to make the remote reset, since they use full encryption.

According to the Android Developer Dashboard, the lower the Android 5.0 devices represent 74.1% of smartphones and tablets with the operating system Google
