ESET announced the launch of ESET Parental Control for Android, a new security app, specifically designed to protect children from online threats.
The new application, which is already available in Google Play Store allows parents to help their children to explore the web through a secure and controlled environment.
ESET Parental Control for Android, aimed at devices based on the Android operating system (as its name implies) says a number of protection mechanisms in order to ensure that children travel in the virtual world safely.
Among other features, the application allows you to block inappropriate content, has a manager application for use of period , the child’s location and also presents usage reports
Having an application to control what children do with their tablets and smartphones is not just important -. it is essential for any parent or guardian. A study supported by ESET, 88% of parents have voiced concerns with what their children can access online. In this study, 81% of parents admitted getting disturbed by the idea of their children visiting inappropriate web pages; 71% are afraid that their children send personal information to strangers; while 61% simply highlighted the excessive time spent by the newest mobile devices. Despite concerns, only a few parents set up a parental control app to help them manage the online experience of their children.
The Parental Control app to ESET’s Android is the answer to parents’ fears, allowing children of all ages have access to the Internet world without fear of threats.
The new ESET security system for Android has several useful features to protect children from Internet threats and inappropriate web pages.
The “Application Protector”, for example, blocks inappropriate content depending on the age of the child, while the “Time Management” allows parents to limit the time the child begins to play or the user other apps, even when it is outside the home. The “Internet Shield” automatically locks predefined website categories, such as adult content or offensive on the child’s age and can still add other categories and specific websites. The “System Location” allows parents to check where your child’s device. Already the “Message function” communicates with the smartphone or tablet of your child and does not allow the use of the device until they read the message they received. Finally, we highlight the reports on the use of apps and web pages visited. These reports can be accessed through the application on parental way through the site my.eset.com, or sent regularly to parents’ e-mail accounts.
This app also includes an additional option, which allows the child ask the parents a special permission to access certain apps or web content, or ask for more time to play or navigate.
