Android users are more loyal to the brand, except in windows … – Tudocelular.com

The Apple CEO Tim Cook said during an interview on the last quarter that Android users are more than ever flocking to the iPhone. A new study supports further this notion, showing that Android users are very loyal to Google’s operating system to upgrade their smartphones in the United States, but only as long as there is no new iPhone in the period.

A new report published by Ericsson revealed that the loyalty of Android users is even higher than the loyalty of those who use iPhones for most of the year (82% vs. 73%), but something strange happens once a new iPhone is released . During this launch window, although the public Apple does not significantly increase their loyalty, that of Android users is significantly reduced.

“The regular release of new iOS smartphones during every September brings significant temporal fluctuations in the pattern of switching devices. In the two weeks after the release of new models of iOS smartphones, users change rates for iOS increased dramatically . The iOS loyalty rate increased to 73-93 percent. In contrast, for the same period, the loyalty numbers among Android users fell 82-76 percent. In other words, the number of users who exchanged system in September doubled when we look at the Google market, “said Ericsson in the report.

Ericsson studied several markets in Europe, Asia and North America for the study, observing the behavior of customers with its iOS mobile, Android and Windows.

In all other months of the year, about 1.7% of Android users move to a new Android smartphone, and 0.3% goes to the iPhone. Meanwhile, 1.1% of iPhone users move to a new iPhone, while 0.4% goes to Android. While 0.4% appears to be greater than 0.3%, suggesting that most iPhone users abandon their platform than Android users, this is not really the case, since the Android dominates about 80% of the market smartphones, so any number related to this system is dozens of times more significant than the 14% base of iPhone users.

The Ericsson study also talks about another important detail. Smartphone users with high-end models are more likely to select new devices on the same line than entry-level models of users. This means that people willing to buy iPhones and Android devices more expensive tend to continue spending money on the same brand next year.
