The iOS continues to lose ground to Android – Follow

The sales figures of the smartphone manufacturers show their success and of the operating system that accompanies it. The clash between the iOS and the Android is constant, leading to the normal comparisons.

For the quarter that ended in August of this year, the Kantar showed that Android continues to dominate the market and the move away from iOS.

Android iOS

The numbers from Kantar for the period under review, and that ended in August of 2016, is back to show that the market is controlled by Android. This domain was seen in the growth that has succeeded, having gained ground in all markets, with the exception of one only, of the United States. Here, Android had a negative growth.

In Europe, and focusing on the 5 major countries (France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the United Kingdom), Android grew 6% and now has a market share to 78.1%. The growth of iOS in these markets was much more shy and reached only 1.1%, and now this OS a market share of 17.3%. The differences are very large, but even so, iPhone sales were very strong.

the behavior of The iOS

The behavior of iOS and the iPhone in this period was mixed. Not able to overtake the Android in almost all of the markets. Only in american is strong and growing more than the competition.

it Is no surprise that you re losing ground, with negative growth of more than 5% in China, a market that both promised to Apple.

the behavior of The Android

overall, Android has maintained its rate of growth in the major markets. The market where he had a greater impact was in Australia, with a growth rate close to 10%.

To counter the growth of iOS in the United States, it is here that the Android has the largest loss. The numbers are negative and come close to, 2%.

And the Windows 10 Mobile?

THE OS of Microsoft also continued its pace, but in this case it is loss. In almost all of the major markets for the devices with Windows 10 Mobile had a negative growth, with some values being above 8%.

Curiously, and once more, it is in Japan that this mobile operating system is a adoption really worthy to be seen. In this country, the Windows 10 Mobile grows, with values close to zero: for 0.3%.
This is not the ideal scenario for many, but it clearly shows that Android dominates the majority of markets, and that its growth continues to increase. The iOS follows behind with a large distance, but also maintaining it growth. These numbers do not count the sales of the iPhone 7, which came out in the beginning of September, something that will certainly make you change the values.
