In the first place, several of the major partners of Google that produce smartwatches, such as LG, Huawei and Lenovo, have announced that they were ending plans to launch new devices in 2016. Then, at the end of September, after the release of beta 3 of Android Wear 2.0, Google announced that the official launch would be postponed until 2017. according To Blass, @evleaks on Twitter, the new smartwatches of Google will be launched during the first quarter of 2017. This seems to be a delay for the devices that were expected to come to market in 2016. Apparently, the team that was to develop the smartwatches from Google was, as well as other brands affected by the delay in the release of version Android Wear 2.0.
According to the release schedule of smartwatches from Google, known under the code names Angelfish, and Swordfish, the Android Wear 2.0 will only be officially launched in early 2017, a year later than originally planned.
