Google Chrome in version Canary, which has always been available only to PCs with Windows and Mac, is now also being offered in the Play Store to bring the channel to Android users who like to live dangerously.
Traditionally, the browser has been available in four “channels”, which are divided between the stages of development of each version. These channels are: Stable, Beta, Dev and Canary.
As you may have guessed by now, the Canary is the first to receive the latest news from the browser, even before the development versions and the beta.
the Builds of Canary are flushed automatically every day, without any manual tests. That is, only for those who are willing to find many bugs and problems to be the first to experience the novelties to come. As emphasized by the company:
- Experimental: This version has not been tested. She may be unstable or to fail in some executions. Recommended only for developers and advanced users.
- frequent Updates: Updates can be distributed up to seven times per week, consuming 100 MB of bandwidth. Be careful when updating apps using the cellular network.
- Provide feedback in advance: The best way to help make Chrome for Android a better browser. Click on “Help and feedback” in the menu to provide feedback.
This version has just been published in the Play Store, starting with the compilation 56.0.2891.8. There aren’t any noticeable changes between the new Chrome Canary for Android compared to the version in Dev, but in the future, this should be the first place where you can find new resources.
Possibly due to a bug, the Canary is the only version of Chrome that you can install directly on the Android TV. Those who are interested can download it for free via the link below.
