Android Independent developers have helped users who end up being abandoned by manufacturers after a few years, with outdated versions of green little robot software. But LG is upgrading its top model of two generations ago to meet the demands of customers by postponing the need to resort to unofficial solutions.
Earlier this year we saw a video with LG G2 duly updated to the Android 5.0.1 Lollipop, five months after the device was already enjoying the 5.0.2 version officially. Now, according to a source AndroidPIT, LG will provide the newest Android 5.1.1 Lollipop within two months .
The source, an employee of LG’s software development division, would have revealed the information about the date and the version to be launched later explaining that following the new system would be a new user interface and other new features present in the current flagship LG G4.
However, one must consider this information carefully, since they are not official and can not be confirmed. On the other models top line LG, we know that the LG G3 could not get Android 5.1, jumping directly to Android M. And the manufacturer has confirmed it has no plans to update the G4 to Android 5.1.1.
