As pointed out by Business Insider, the factor that is most recognized influence in this consumer trend seems to be the largest screen size iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus compared to previous models.
This has allegedly been the major reason for exchange of smartphones with Android for the last iPhone, and there continues to be concern about how Apple might expand smartphone with their next iterations.
