Force Touch technology present in Apple Watch and newer Macbooks, should be used by the giant Apple to promote the future iPhone 6s. Thanks to this feature, the control devices with touch screens can be done by applying more or less strength in touch. But although Apple presents the resource as a revolution, independent Android developers disagree.
The Android developer, Adam Outler, published profile on the social network Google Plus that green little robot devices are supported for Force Touch a long time. To prove his words Outler created an application, now available on Google Play, with which users can test if your device can be controlled with different types of touch screen, as in apple clock.
Baptized Force Demo of Touch, the tool brings the line “TouchEvent.getPressure ()” that returns a value that could be used by an application. To perform the test simply press the screen with varying degrees of pressure and it will display on the screen the results, as you can see in the images below.
We can not say that the Force Touch Demo is a really useful application, but it demonstrates that an underutilized resource can become a great asset to those who invest in marketing . Anyway, those interested in learning more about the Adam Outler work, or even develop a more complete solution, can download the source code by clicking here and give details of the Android API clicking here.
Valley underline that in the comments of publishing Outler, there are reports of success and failure in tests with devices like the Nexus 5, Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy to the S6. Here on a Nexus 7 2013 the operation was correct, providing results from 0.05 to 1.2. If you decide to test, you can download the application from the link below. Be sure to share your experience with us.
