The Korean market is still looking for more classic mobiles, including those we flip that reigned in the market before the era of smartphones. Because they are folding, they end up offering a more compact device, with its nostalgic appeal. To meet this need, some companies like Samsung and LG also launched mobile phones of this type, but bringing a more current system – usually Android. Now, to further expand its diverse catalog, LG introduced in his homeland its new flip smartphone with the little robot system, the model Gentle .
Like any good flip smartphone, the Gentle brings a 3.2-inch screen with resolution of 320 x 480 at the top, while at the bottom you will find a standard keyboard (T9) with a dedicated key Q used to access the apps you use most. Unfortunately, the news does not come with the best today’s hardware. Its focus is to bring a different input smartphone. In this case, we have here the chipset Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 (quad-core processor with a maximum speed of 1.1 GHz) and GPU Adreno 304. In terms of memory, the new offers 1 GB of RAM and only 4 GB of storage that fortunately can be expanded using microSD cards.
Finally, the LG Gentle offers a basic 5-megapixel camera on its back and another 0.3 MP (VGA ) on the inside, just above the screen. It offers a battery 1.700mAh which should realize smoothly the simple hardware and low-resolution screen, thus ensuring at least a good day of use out of the socket. As can be seen in the images above, it does not offer a second screen on the outside, as we have seen on other smartphones in flip format. This reinforces the idea that we are facing an entry model of South Korea.
The novelty will begin shipping in Korea from next Wednesday (29) carrier exclusivity with LG U + , having revealed price US $ 171 (approximately R $ 570 in direct conversion at current price). The LG Gentle is the third flip smartphone with Android South Korean, which shows that the company may invest in other models of this format. Does it make good success here? If the LG bring the news to Brazil, he could come up with price above competitors with Snapdragon 210, but would have nostalgic appeal to attract potential stakeholders in the product.
