950 million Android devices are at risk due to … – IGN Portugal

Users of Android operating system should be alert to any message they receive video and it disappears suddenly.

A group of researchers Zimperium Mobile Security revealed the flaw in the operating system along with the news that 950 million devices are currently vulnerable to attack.

The attack an affected by this failure device is so simple that the only thing the offender needs is the victim’s phone number. Even more problematic is the fact that there needs to be any action on the device itself. After sending the video message with the exploit , various parts of the device such as the microphone, the camera and bluetooth, are fully available to the offender.

“Contrary to does the spear-fishing , where the victim must open a PDF file or a link sent by the offender, this vulnerability can be activated while you are sleeping, “we read in the Zimperium report. “Before you wake up, the offender removes any device runway have been compromised and you will continue your day normally. – But with a vulnerable phone”

Any Android device with a higher version than 2.2 is vulnerable, but those who have a version prior to 4.2 are those most at risk.

The company will share more details on Black Hat and DEFCON conference in August. However, already sent some correction updates the problem for Google, but said that is only “the beginning of what will be a long process.”
