Every 18 seconds appears malware for Android – Pplware

As the mobile operating system most used around the world, Android is also the main target of hackers. In the first quarter of 2015, cybercriminals “increased” the number of attacks on mobile system of Google, has been registered a new malware every 18 seconds.

According to a G DATA report, the first quarter of 2015 were discovered 440.267 new threats to Android, which is equivalent to a new malware every 18 seconds (specifically 17.6 s).

The report also reveals that 50% of malware is associated with a ‘ financial motivation. “

Compared to last quarter 2014, the number of malware in the first quarter 2015 increased by 6.4%. Compared to the first quarter of 2014 (363.153 new threats detected), then the malware growth is around 21%.

Recently we reported also that 1 in 6 existing applications to Android was a disguised malware, which is worrying given that this is the operating system most used around the world.
