In 2014, 1 million apps for Android were disguised malware – Globo.com

A security document on the Internet released by Symantec anti-virus company points out that in 2014 at least 17% of all applications for Android, which corresponds to about 1 million apps were disguised malware.

This represents an increase of 42% compared to 2013, when the number was around 700,000 apps.

But the more cautious is not so much with what is worry. According to Kevin Haley, Symantec’s security director, only a minority of these malware is in the Play Store, the official store of Android applications.
