Have an Android smartphone? These are applications that spend … – View

AVG Technologies, known for free antivirus, released a new study on the effects of various applications on smartphones with the Android operating system, in three categories: those that use more battery power, the more damage the device yield and who consume more mobile data. But if there is something common to all the “Top 10″ is that social networks are at the top of the rankings.

Applications that consume more battery

In this category, the study of AVG makes a distinction between applications that are used automatically (work from the moment the smartphone is turned on) and those that are activated by the user.

Among the applications that run automatically, which consumes more battery is the Beaming Service for Samsung, followed by Security Policy Updates. The first streamlines the use of loyalty cards, while the second updates the security settings of the mobile device. But social networks are not off the podium with Facebook to stay in third place. Also the social network and the Waze application to take selfies Candy Camera are among the highest contributors to the loss of autonomy of smartphones.

Also in applications that are activated manually is Samsung who leads, with Samsung WatchON (Video) to search multimedia content across multiple platforms, and transform the smartphone into the remote control. From product sales platform second hand OLX Free Classifieds is second, followed by Telstra, which contains news and information about the weather.

applications most affect the performance

Facebook, Spotify Music, Instagram and Path are applications that most affect the performance of smartphones. Social networks are characterized by the timeliness of the content (an actuality almost “the second”), which requires a constant updating of the other applications that manage its operation. The constant need for these updates and hence the resources they consume, leading to an overload of the device’s RAM, impairing its operation.

Applications that consume a greater amount of data

The application of the British tabloid Daily Mail leads the list of most consuming mobile data. Soon after, are Tumblr, Facebook, Instagram and Spotify Music. Social networks and multimedia content applications are the most negatively contribute to the mobile data tariff.
