Google releases Android 5.1 factory image for Nexus 4 and … – Tudocelular.com

Yesterday (15/04), some of the Nexus 4 users began receiving Android 5.1 over the air. For those who only seeks the update file, just check our tutorial. For those who want to install the factory image, the Mountain View giant just released not only for your smartphone, but also for the tablet Nexus 7 2013 , either version only Wi-Fi as the version LTE.

To relizar the following procedure, it is recommended to have knowledge about fastboot and ADB . Download the file for your device, as well as the necessary USB drivers. There is also the link to the SDK will facilitate the installation process

Files Needed:.

Follow the steps below:

  • Download the SDK and extract the file in the root of the C: drive on your PC
  •  

  • Download and install the Windows drivers
  •  

  • Turn off your Nexus
  •  

  • Call holding the Volume Less + Power button button to enter the fastboot
  •  

  • Connect your device to your PC to install the drivers
  •  

  • Go to the SDK folder uncompressed on your PC
  •  

  • Press Shift + right-click
  •  

  • Select Open Command Window Here
  •  

And enter the following commands:

  • Fastboot devices
  •  

  • Fastboot oem unlock
  •  

Select Yes in the window that appears on your smartphone with the Power button .

After the procedure finish type fastboot reboot and your phone will reboot. The process can take 2-3 minutes to complete.

Installation via FLASH

The process here is a little different from the previous. You will have to extract twice the downloaded image until you reach a file in tar format. . It is recommended to use 7zip program for this

After unpacking the image, follow the steps below:

  • Turn off your Nexus
  •  

  • Get in Fastboot mode (Volume Less + Power button)
  •  

  • Connect your Nexus to your PC
  •  

  • Click the file Flash file-all.bat
  •  

  • Wait until the procedure is finished
  •  

  • Your phone will restart in about three minutes
  •  

If you do not restart automatically, select the Recovery option when the green robot appears, press Power + Volume More button and select “Wipe data / Factory data reset”.

Your Nexus will be restarted with Android 5.0.1 Lollipop LMY47O . If you have problem with the above procedure, please manually to install the ROM on your Nexus.



Manual Method

Unpack the ROM file and pass each file with the command prompt Windows:

  • fastboot flash bootloader-nomeimmagine.img bootloader
