Over the past few years have seen the constant appearance of advertising in mobile applications, including ads that we can not “jump” on Youtube and posts promoted on Facebook and Twitter.

Now Google, the king of online advertising, seems determined to bring ads into a realm of mobile connectivity still free of them. The ground is being prepared to bring advertising to Gmail for Android, according to Android Police.

website published news about Gmail 4.6, a recent APK launched for Android devices, and found several references to advertising. It seems that the ads in Gmail for the platform will be similar to those that began to appear within tabs “Specials” in the web version of the e-mails.

Instead of appearing as a sidebar in the Gmail window or a call at the top of the page, these advertisements have the appearance of an e-mail. But, unlike the messages “normal”, the ads are identified as such under the name of “sender”, along with an information icon that you can click to learn more about the ads.

On Android, you will be able to save these listings in your inbox or reject them, according to the site. Coffee lovers who receive an ad for a 50% discount when purchasing a Frappuccino at Starbucks can keep this offer, for example, while rejecting a message from Coca-Cola.

So far, these are the speculations that are closer than might be true. But Google has not yet announced ads in Gmail for Android, and it is unclear when the alleged deployment will happen – but she seems to be heading.

A spokesman for the Mountain View giant has refused to comment on the matter in the report by Android Police. The company said it is experiencing only new features, but it had nothing to share at this time.

With over 400 million users for Gmail, many of which require mobile devices to stay connected, it is no surprise to see ads coming to a product built by one of the giants of online advertising.

We’ll have to wait to see if the promotional messages in Gmail for Android will become a disaster for the inbox, or a relatively unobtrusive advertising that is only part of the price you pay to use a webmail service free.
