Jelly Bean is already present in almost half of the devices ... - Xpert Mobile

A major problem has always been the Android platform fragmentation between the various versions available and the devices on the market, but now this problem is getting closer to being eradicated.

Google publishes a monthly analysis of data from active devices that access the Play Store to determine the version of the OS on your smartphone or tablet, and this time the numbers showed something interesting; Android Jelly Bean is already present in 48.6% of the devices.

While this is great news, 36.5% of these devices are running version 4.1.x, the oldest variation of Jelly Bean. 10.6% are already in 4.2.x while only 1.5% at 4.3, which was expected since only Nexus devices are officially compatible with this build.

Another interesting point is that all versions below 4.2.x lost market share over the last month, which shows that the system is actually getting increasingly unified, even if little in short.

is expected next month we see a significant increase in the proportion with version 4.3, since devices like the Samsung Galaxy S4, Galaxy Note 2, Note 3 and HTC One will be earning upgrading to the latest version.
