Nokia smartphones with Android tested before the partnership with ... - TeK.sapo

One who can become the “marriage” of the year would never have happened. Both Microsoft and Nokia have been testing some backup plans if the partnership did not return the expected results. More specifically, Microsoft came to test a Nokia mobile phone and Surface experienced the Android operating system in some of their devices.

The information is revealed by the international press quoting sources close to the development of the two projects.

In the case of Microsoft, the company responsible for Windows has been tested more than a mobile version of Surface to know if the project was feasible. According to The Verge, the man who is currently responsible for the divisions Windows, Windows Phone and Xbox, Terry Myerson, was also the person who coordinated the development of the smartphone.

The relationship with Nokia finally become dangerous since the Finnish manufacturer was responsible for issuing 80% of smartphones with Windows Phone. That is, if Nokia abandoned the boat would Microsoft in trouble. And apparently the company responsible for the Lumia line of smartphones had this possibility in 2014.

The New York Times reveals that the European Technology experienced some Lumia phones with the Android operating system from Google. The apparent lack of commitment by Microsoft to create a line of low-end mobile phones led Nokia to consider other hypotheses.

One device in particular, the MView, woul d launch date scheduled for 2014 and would incorporate a customized version of Android, a bit like Amazon makes the Kindle Fire.

One thing seems certain in the midst of so many unconfirmed: both as a Surface Phone Nokia with Android projects that are not going to make a reality in the near future.
