Android: did last five years that Google launched its first ... - Telemoveis.com

The first Android smartphone from Google yesterday completed five years of existence. Still remember the T-Mobile G1?

It’s been five years since Google introduced one device that became known as Googlephone: the first Android smartphone from U.S. giant was called T-Mobile G1 and served as a starter for a platform that now dominates almost the global market.

“We had worked for months with a small team in building 44 in Mountain View, Calif.,” said Des Smith, one of the original members of the Android team, a commemorative post on your Google+ page . “I was so excited I could not sleep.”

Android: did that last 5 years Google launched its first smartphone

No one knew exactly what to expect from Google on the day of release. Most were actually waiting for a smartphone, but few were expecting a mobile platform that could become available and used by other manufacturers.

These days the G1 is just a memory within the mobile segment as we know it today, but served as a launching pad for the most successful platform of today. Android is currently present in over one billion devices, including digital cameras, TVs, gaming consoles and smart watches, and served to expand a community of open source developers. Furthermore, without the Android Samsung would not have the presence that currently holds within the segment of smartphones.

It is certainly a reminder that in the world of technology five years can make all the difference. Which mobile platform do you use? What do you think of Google’s operating system? Leave us your opinion!
