Researchers from the university of the United Kingdom and China have found a way to unlock 95% of the patterns lock of any Android smartphone. Through an algorithm able to analyze the movements of users ‘ hands, the program can draw the unlock pattern via a recorded video between two and a half metres to nine metres away. It is possible to discover the correct pattern in less than five attempts.
Many Android users choose to use the default screen lock to protect the entry in the system (on your smartphone), because they believe that this is a faster method and more efficient than a password or pin. To test the algorithm, researchers have recorded, with a normal smartphone, videos, about two and a half metres of 215 people have unlocked the Android device. In total, there were about 120 unique patterns that have been recorded and, in some cases without the screen of the smartphone to appear on the recorded video.

There is a greater ease for the algorithm to decipher a code with more movements than a simple pattern.
