Google requires OEMs to keep notification native … – Tudocelular.com

Google has updated its Definition Document Compatibility for Android (Compatibility Definition Document) at the beginning of this week and, although most of the changes are very small, one of them stood out in the section about notifications.

in This section, the Google caught the attention of the manufacturers that somehow block or remove the notification in native Android, as the answers, access to the settings and the grouping of notifications. The revised document prohibits such practices, and states that OEMs must keep the implementations of the Google of the features in AOSP.

the implementations of The handheld devices MUST support the update behaviors, removal, response, and grouping of notifications, as described in this section.

in addition, implementations should provide the ability to control notifications directly in the notification, the visual to trigger the control panel and the ability to block, mute and to reset the preference of notification, both in the control panel as in the application settings.

This should ensure an experience of consistent notification in Android, whatever the manufacturer. It is also interesting to note that the new clause requires that the users can access the control panel directly from the notification, although most of the manufacturers have kept this.
