a month Ago, we saw the Moto X Play 2015 in a benchmark with the Android 7.1.1 Nougat installed, which left users in the expectation that the device would receive the update in the near future. And this is exactly what will happen.
This model is scheduled to receive the long awaited update by the end of this month, at least in Europe. The official word on the subject comes directly from the own Motorola in Germany, responding to a question about the update to a user on Twitter.
This news applies only to the european model, unlocked the Moto X Play, at least for a while. It means that the implementation of the Nougat in this unit may take a little longer in other places. What is not yet clear is which iteration exact the Nougat will be sent.
The Bike Z and the Moto G4 have already received updates to Android 7.0, but the version that Motorola was testing in this benchmark for the X-Play was the Android 7.1.1. Hopefully, he will be the one chosen to reach out to the users.
Yet that is the 7.0, the owners of the device should not be discouraged, because the Motorola is doing a good job in regards of updates of Nougat, at least better than many other manufacturers. It is worth remembering that the Moto X Style has also been seen with the Android 1.1.
