Android 7.1 still runs very well on a old Galaxy S – Follow

as a rule, the more recent versions of Android are reserved for devices with more current and advanced hardware. The limitation is almost always in the capacity of the processor, which leads to the fact that older devices are stuck in time and no updates.

But, a video posted on YouTube, shows something that many thought not to be possible. Someone managed to put Android 7.1 running on one of the first smartphones in the Galaxy S line from Samsung.

Android Galaxy S

Despite being a smartphone with already 7 years, the Galaxy S from Samsung has been a sales success and one of the main smartphones that the brand is Korean put on the market.

Past all these years, and without receiving updates of Android there is already a long time, came now the proof that this can still run the latest versions of Android. Is not an official version, but proof as well that still has everything you need to be updated.

This video shows the Galaxy S running a version of the amended CyanogenMod 14.1, adapted to the hardware that equips this phone. Surprisingly, and as we can see in the video, there is not any slowdown, while the S operating in the normal manner.

we Remind you that the first Galaxy S, GT-I9000, had only 512MB of RAM, something that there is much left to be used. Still had a SoC Hummingbird or Exynos 3110 with a processor Cortex-A8 1.0 GHz processor, complemented with a GPU PowerVR SGX540. The memory storage was 8 or 16 GB, expandable up to 32GB via SD card.

The Galaxy S was released with the version 2.1 Eclair of the Android and received, later, an update to version 2.3 Gingerbread. Over the years, and always through ROMs non-official, was being updated to the latest versions.

Being a telephone with 7 years and with the hardware clearly exceeded, it is not expected that he could run so smooth with the latest version of Android, but the truth is that you can still show up to the height of the task.

hoping to see a smartphone in this age to run a version as recent Android?
