Dessert Time in Mountain View! Google announced Thursday via Twitter that the new version of the Android operating system will be called … nougat.
The announcement comes just over a month after the company asked the community users to suggest names to replace the designation N, which until now had served to identify the latest version of the software.
This was one of the most popular suggestions, next to the famous Nutella hazelnut cream.
If you find this whole story something strange, remember that older versions of Android have, since version 1.5, obeyed the theme of goodies. Cupcake, Donut, Eclair, Froyo, Gingerbread, Honeycomb, Ice Cream Sandwich, Jelly Bean, KitKat, Lollipop and Marshmallow were the names that Google named earlier versions of the OS.
The release date yet was not disclosed, but the company admitted that happen near the end of summer
Remember the main features of Android Nougat:.
