EU is still open process on Google for Android – EXAME.com

Strasbourg – The European Commission has yet to decide whether to accuse the Google market abuse because of its mobile operating system Android , said European Competition Commissioner, Margrethe Vestager, Tuesday.

The Commission, which is responsible for antitrust issues in the European Union, accused Google in April cheat competitors by distorting research findings on the Internet in favor of its shopping service while opened the investigation on Android.

“On the formal investigation dealing with Android, not finalized it yet. So still open whether it will one way or the other,” Vestager told a news conference.

“We have analyzed the case before formally open it, and of course the reason we put enough resources in the case is due to our concerns about whether things are as they should be, they are fully in accordance with the rules “
