Android Lollipop has serious security flaw that lets jump … – Tudocelular.com

Attention Android users, while many are still fearful about the risks of having their devices hacked to know explore the Stagefright we have a new and serious flaw that affects all who are with the newest version of the green little robot system, 5 Lollipop.

The new security flaw was discovered by researchers at the University of Texas, showing the feat in a video posted yesterday (15) on Youtube. Specifically, it is a very simple way to bypass the screen lock password , allowing anyone to ignore it and have full access to the smartphone or tablet content without knowing the real password.

The process basically involves ordering the screen to emergency calls, whereby the attacker copy and paste repeatedly any combination of characters until the system collapses and open the camera, giving the full access to the files and applications of the device shortly after.

Fortunately, this new vulnerability is present only in the Android Lollipop, which involves “only” in 20% of all devices with Google’s mobile system on the market. It is also important to disregard the Nexus line of devices that have received the newest update to version 5.1.1 (LMY48M), which already has the fix.

Google was alerted to the problem in June , having enough time to resolve the matter on their own devices, but now that the problem became public other manufacturers will also have to run to correct the Stagefright and this new equally serious flaw.

users who are with the Android Lollipop should avoid using passwords on the lock screen , giving preference to standards with gestures or PIN. Of course, those who rely on the biometric sensor must utilize it to ensure safety and convenience. You must also remember that the malicious user will have to be with your device at hand, then, be wary of places where you store your smartphone or tablet.
