The idea of having a smartphone with support for more than one operating system is not new. However there is still some work to do in this area although we have seen some very interesting statements in this context.
With the opening of Microsoft to Android applications came now also a new opportunity has been explored . Did you know that the Lumia can already run Android?
The Astoria project could bring to the Windows 10 Mobile a platform where you can run almost directly Android applications.
The idea is to allow developers to migrate applications without conducting the major changes especially in terms of source code. Advances are made and it is possible for some users to test those Android applications on a Windows 10 Mobile environment.
To access these applications Windows 10 Mobile has within it various components of Android that come easy the “transition” between these two worlds and thus facilitate the use of Android applications.
But a “bug” that was discovered, which is now being explored by some users, has enabled something that was not expected. The Lumia started to get run Android directly, without having to use any emulator.
This novelty can not be exploited by all and for now there are only a few videos that show a Lumia 830 running the Android 5.0 .2.
To accomplish this feat is required to access some specific tools from Microsoft, such tools that are forbidden to ordinary users and even developers.
Even though it is only a test concept, it is clear that Microsoft is to open the Windows 10 Mobile to other systems, as set out to do.
Probably the idea was not to bring this ability to run Android so far, but the truth is that the Lumia are by now able to run the operating system from Google.
Is this the Microsoft idea or this flaw turns out to show more than you intended?
