One of the news that Google introduced in conjunction with the Android M was the Twelve. This new energy management that Android M will be able to grow the useful life of the batteries.
So far there was was only the promise of this increase, but the first tests reveal that Google may have been measured in our numbers.
The Nexus 5 was a test and the values obtained show that in the standby duration for longer than twice as long as the previous version took.
The first tests with the first version of Android already showed M substantial improvements in energy consumption this new system.
This was an improvement promised by Google and users insisted charge. The benefits of Android Lollipop were not the best in this field and many wanted to see Android to be more adjusted behavior.
Now Tests conducted at site C omputer B ase in order to prove the capabilities of Android M revealed that this is undoubtedly a better system for energy management and battery consumption.
For this test were prepared two Nexus 5 of Google, each running one of the latest versions of Android (Lollipop and M). In addition were created some special conditions, they intended to simulate normal use
Other special conditions:
- No this SIM card
- Bluetooth, NFC and Android Beam turned off
- Wi-Fi and GPS activated
- Status LEDs on and off touches
- All Settings in the state both Android 5.1.1 as in the M
- set three IMAP accounts configured
- Facebook and Facebook Messenger installed and authenticated
- Talon to Twitter (Plus) installed and authenticated
- The following applications were installed: 9GAG First, AirDroid, Android Wear, BeyondBod, CalDAV Sync, Chrome Beta, Chrome Remote Desktop, chromecast, ES File Explorer, Feedly, Google handwriting input, Hangouts Dialer, IMDb, Inbox, VLC, Yahoo Weather, Wikipedia
The test results can be seen in the table below and show early improvements in consumption of Android M from the Lollipop:

The Nexus 5 to run Android 5.1.1, lost battery 4% at 8 hours, 12% after 24 hours and 24% after 48 hours. On the other hand the Nexus 5 to run Android M lost 1.5% of its charge after 8 hours, 4.5% after 24 hours and 9.0% until 48 hours
The most revealing was that, with the active Twelve, the Nexus 5 that ran the Android M managed to endure 533 hours of standby time while the Android Lollipop in the Nexus 5 lasted only 200 hours.
This is the first proof that Google has the Android M a good operating system, with new promises and everything to be the best version of Android so far released.
After news that was Lollipop, not just the aesthetic level, but also the many new features that brought, this is now the time to mature and improve.
