Sony Xperia devices also already have the Android M … – Tudocelular.com

During the Google I / O event in 2015 the search giant launched the Android M, Android’s successor 5 Lollipop, releasing a version provided for developers on the same day. Unfortunately the Android M Developer Preview was only available for some Nexus line of devices, but this situation is changing thanks to the Sony Open Device Program.

The Sony announced that interested developers can now create image files to install Android M DP in Xperia line of devices , as the Xperia Z3 Compact used in the video published to demonstrate the system running on the device of the Japanese brand.

The listed smartphones and tablets are part of the Open Device Program from Sony, now, with the arrival of M Android Developer Preview, will allow developers to prepare for the release of the final version of the operating system. You can make changes and test applications on the new platform that brings many changes such as the possibility of permission management by the users.

To help stakeholders Sony provides the necessary files and a tutorial that teaches riding the AOSP file M Developer Preview. It is worth remembering that the device needs to be unlocked bootloader and this initial version comes with some limitations such as the lack of support for the modem and the camera.
