On the evening of Thursday, 04, the co-founder and current CEO of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg, used his official account on the social network to introduce a new version of its application for limited connections Internet. Called Facebook Lite, the initiative will come in Asian, European, African territory and fortunately to us in Latin America we enjoy the novelty developed by technology giant. It is not the first time the US company intervenes to try to get online access to the most remote parts of the globe, enabling digital integration drifting in many positive projects in poor communities.
We just launched Facebook Lite, a new application designed to offer people a faster experience on slow mobile networks in Android phones around the world. We built Facebook Lite for speed, more reliable and efficient in the use of data even when the bandwidth is minimal. The application weighs less than 1MB and needs only a few seconds to be downloaded. We are initiating the delivery of the Facebook Lite in Asia, Africa, Latin America and Europe, and will be accessible on the Google Play Store. We will continue to work to serve everyone in the world, besides continuing to build tools for people in every community are connected to all – says Mark Zuckerberg in his official profile.
Note that only devices that run Google’s operating system can download the Facebook Lite for faster access to the social network, of course excluding the owners of iOS products with the obvious high prices. Despite the availability be restricted until now, most sites should be awarded the novelty over time, but emerging markets are the real focus of the Zuckerberg company. If to try a ‘kick’, say that Windows Phone is the potential next step for the team to bring the app to the efficiency marked goal.
Go to Google Play Store and not miss the opportunity to experience the features of Facebook Lite.
