Using an Android Wear smartwatch connected to iOS? Yes, you can – Pplware

… but not in a simple

smartwatches are coming increasingly in strength and to be a device that potential users begin to look more interested way.

These equipments depend mostly a permanent connection to a smartphone, which must be associated to the ecosystem to which it belongs.

If until now was impossible to put an Android Wear smartwatch connected to a non-Android device, arises now evidence that after all this impossibility can be so real.

With the exception of equipment Pebble, it is now impossible to connect a smartwatch to a device that runs iOS. It is expected that with the launch of Apple Watch this scenario change, but will have the impossibility of connecting your Android device.

These limitations imposed by manufacturers are understandable and intend to keep users connected to their OS origin, giving them freedom that would want to have.

It does not matter to any of the two major players in this market this “mixture”, also being the obvious reasons that lead them to make such decisions.

But now there is a video that shows that after all the Android Wear can even speak simply with iOS and get back all the notices that appear on this operating system.

The developments were made by Mohammad Abu-Garbeyyeh that a video showed how you can reverse the Android Wear and put it to communicate with the API’s that Apple provides for communication with external devices and receive these messages.

These APIs are the same as the Pebble uses to feed information your devices and as well work for these smartwatches.

Interestingly, contrary to what would be expected, this implementation does not require any of the equipment have jailbreak or root applied, working directly and without any special change, except for small changes in Android Wear.

Despite being just a video and without any way to be tested, there is no indication that this is false. This programmer is known for developing various modules Xposed framework, all of excellent quality.

It is not expected to emerge soon, or even in the near future, any implementation of Android Wear application for iOS, which leaves users of this operating system attached to that Apple launch with your Watch or to Pebble.

Although less is expected sometime Apple launch a version of the software will use to connect to Apple Watch, increasing further the gap between these two platforms and between these various types of hardware.

The truth is, and according to what can be seen, this communication is not so complicated or impossible. With some effort on the part of these companies could create passing situations and using such devices between the two platforms
