Android Malware attack disguised as popular application - TeK.sapo

A group of cybercriminals managed to put an application on Google Play malicious who passed himself off the ad blocker software AdBlock Plus. In recent times the cases of applications that violate the rules of Google and can get to the store have gained strength.

The complaint is made by security firm Kaspersky reveals that the app instead of blocking ads , meant that users receive even more.

The software once installed gained access to some elements even more personal phone user as access to SMS and other private records. The application also has the ability to change the settings of the Bluetooth device to enable connection to other devices.

According to the company security software was supported by a mobile advertising network that originates in Brazil.

“This is one of those cases where the user seeks protection, but only finds problems,” he lamented in a statement the research director of Kaspersky Lab, Dmitry Bestuzhev.

This is just another episode involving the Google brand and AdBlock Plus. Earlier this year the two companies involved in a controversy after the application has been removed for reasons unclear, in the opinion of the software.
