Android reaches a new level of popularity – News up to the Minute (press release)

Only this is that Google has launched its own smartphone but the 'conquest' of that market gave up to much more time with the launching of its Android. According to numbers advanced by a study by Strategy Analytics, the operating system has a market share of 87.5%.

As noted by the Next Web, the study indicates that nine in every 10 mobile devices that has Android operating system. Only in the last quarter, 328,6 million devices sold were Android, showing an annual growth of 10.3%. The increase in the number of Android devices is related to the decrease in sales of the iPhone in the same period, a drop of 5.2% compared to the previous quarter, and that resulted in the sale of only 45.5 million of the devices.

The study points to China as the reason for the growth of Android, including the devices of low range who continue to 'fly' of the shelves in this territory.
