Skype for iOS and Android now allows video calls in groups – SAPO Tek

First to Europe and the United States at the end of March to the rest of the world. Microsoft has released today, February 18, the video call feature group for operating systems iOS and Android.

You may have the same connection 24 others, something which until now was reserved for the Skype desktop version.

One of the most interesting features is the laying on screen center to the user window that is talking, something that makes sense knowing that the small size of smartphone screens and tablets become difficult to manage the ‘square’ conversation.

for example imagine that you are talking with another 20 people; what happens is that all people will be turned into small mosaics that will be at the bottom of the screen in a carousel; scroll through the list, select a contact and this will be extra large and prominent on the device.

In order to achieve greater fluidity in many talks with Microsoft enlisted the help of Intel, who helped in the integration of a video codec and sound that ensures quality and a lower consumption of bandwidth.

video call feature group was already available in other messaging tools like Google Hangouts. But in the case of this system the maximum number of people a connection is 10 users.
