As part of the Chrome for iOS last year, support for Internet of Things – or Web physics, such as Google prefers to call it – will now come to Android, with version 49 of the browser to the mobile platform <. /> p>
the technology itself takes its name from Eddystone and works through so-called beacons, signs that circulate bluetooth and “pass” contextual information to your smartphone or tablet issued by other intelligent devices.
the Chrome team explains that the first time an Android user is in contact with a beacon receive a notification about the possibility of connection to the “Web Physics”. If the feature is enabled, the user starts to receive notices with information issued by different interactive devices with which to go cruising.
An example might be a vending machine that alert you to certain promotion at any given time but the technology can include other devices such as parking meters or even stores.
