MaruOS – Android in the smartphone and Debian Desktop – Pplware

With the market for PCs breaks and smartphones wanting to take the place of these, it is necessary that mobile devices start to offer features that until now were exclusive to PCs. In this sense, major brands have been working in his concepts of convergence that unites the mobile world with the Desktop.

in line with this concept, the MaruOS project offers Android in the smartphone and the Debian Linux on the Desktop.

With MaruOS if the user is using the your device as a smartphone then has the OS Android, but moving to the Desktop mode now has a Linux Debian.

in practice the user has a mobile device with Android, but if you connect a mouse, keyboard or monitor it passes to Desktop mode and the system switches to Linux Debian

This (even recent) project aims to provide an operating system 2 to 1 and the users who have a Nexus 5 already can test. Although there are not a lot of information, it is known that those responsible for project have provided the availability of the system to other devices.

Canonical was among the first to introduce this concept of convergence and as we reported, the company, in partnership with the Spanish BQ, will launch in March the first tablet with Ubuntu that turns a PC.
