Android: resource “Hey Cortana” is removed from the personal assistant – Tecmundo

Microsoft officially released the Android version of its personal assistant Cortana earlier this month but is already facing problems with the software. As reported by WinBeta site, the company just released an update to the app that removes one of its coolest features: the voice command “Hey Cortana,” awakening the virtual assistant as does the “Ok Google” to Google Now.

The removal, however, seems to have affected only users located in the United States, as we can notice the changelog official application from Google Play. It seems that Microsoft has decided to get rid of functionality after the appearance of numerous reports of internet users that the feature is causing a bizarre bug in Android smartphones microphone by disabling it even for most common uses (such as making calls).

The version for iOS Cortana was not affected by such errors and therefore remains intact until such time that this issue was written. Chances are the Satya Nadella company make the necessary adjustments and release the voice command again to Android in the near future; until then, you need to manually open the Personal Assistant to use all its features.
