A bet on smartphones with bigger screens for from Apple, with the release of the new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus was not able to capture as many Android users as Apple had hoped.
Follow the market trends and meet the requirements a large number of users of smartphones, with preference for large screens in smartphones, Apple was the aim to launch their two new iPhones with the prospect of still capture some of the market share held by the Android operating system. However, that is not what has been observed.
The Consumer Intelligence Research Partners (CIRP) conducted a survey which concluded that the acquisition of new iPhones was made essentially by former users of iOS and Apple’s aim in achieving the users of Android, turned out not materialize.
A survey by CIRP was based on interviews with 300 people who bought or the new iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus and found the majority of them was already a user of previous iPhones.
This year, about 80% of new iPhone buyers were already Apple customers, a number well above 65% when purchasing the iPhone 5S and 5C.
Despite the sales success that provided these two new smartphones, the truth is that this was a success thanks to the loyal customers of the brand Apple. Besides not having attained power in Android users, mobile phone users also appeared in smaller numbers than in previous years.
Still, the majority of Android users who migrated to the new iPhone iOS preferred Plus 6, suggesting that this smartphone has managed to capture some of the likely users of the Galaxy Note.
This study, although a small percentage of buyers of new iPhones, reveals that holders of previous iPhones were thirsty for a smartphone with the larger screen and in that respect, Apple succeeded
