As the new version of Android came new API for the 5 camera of Nexus that promise to do miracles. A few days ago we published some tests that showed the progress that has suffered the camera when taking photos, creating RAW files uncompressed and lossless data. Now, some developers got their hands on these new APIs also allow you to bring major advances to the videos.
By incorporating the new APIs in the application L Camera you can record videos up to 120FPS . The first test was performed with a resolution 1632×1224 at 60FPS , you can see below. The sensor of the smartphone was able to keep good flow throughout the recording time, showing that the hardware of the Nexus has a 5 unexplored potential with KitKat .
When using the native application, developers are able to directly verify the libraries Qualcomm with dedication to videos, adapting them to work with any other camera app without the need to make changes in Android .
To take advantage of this is needed root access for libraries to be updated. With it will be possible to shoot at a resolution above 1080p . As for the shooting 120FPS, the Nexus 5 can only keep good fluidity with maximum resolution of 720p .
So far this news is still experimental stage , so when a more stable version is ready it will be incorporated into the L Camera app and give users new possibilities of Nexus 5.
