Install software Windows on Android will be possible with … – Android Emotions

can you imagine having Windows software installed on your Android? With the CrossOver it will be possible!

While Microsoft is working on a project to make it possible to install Android apps on Windows 10 Mobile, the CrossOver makes the way unlike. This tool is based on the Wine (a tool that allows you to install Windows software on Linux, there is still a version available for OS X) which should arrive soon to the Android, allowing you to install Windows software on devices with the Google operating system.

According to CodeWeavers, the company responsible for the CrossOver, the first version for the users and fans of Android should arrive before the end of the year. But there is a catch, not all users will be able to use this new feature that the company will provide, since this tool is not an emulator, which will require a machine with x86 or x64 processor but with Intel or AMD, thus making it possible for the Windows software to work without problems.

CrossOver

With this limitation to a large portion of Android devices, these were placed in part as the majority are constituted by ARM-based processors. But it is also necessary to note that the number of Android devices with Intel processors has been growing. The case is the Asus Zenfone 2, Dell Venue 8, Lenovo Yoga Tablet 2 and Lenovo K900. This being a small list, if you have an interest in seeing some devices with these processors, the Intel web site provides a more complete list.

But note, even equipment that meet the necessary requirements will not be able to have all of the software available for Windows to work in Android. Being a list available on the website of the company responsible for the development.

One disadvantage found is the software for Windows will not be optimized for devices with a touch screen, a problem that users with tablets with Windows are not.

The CrossOver will also be available for the Chromebooks, and has already been tested a game for Windows, launched through Steam. The president of CodeWeavers says that has never been done something like that, and she also noted that more tests will come, still need some more work.

But for now the Crossover is working on Android being able to run Steam and play the games available.
