Kodi is those platforms open source that almost needs no introduction. Created based on XBMC, a project that was originally developed to transform an Xbox into a Media Center, Kodi is a multi platform media center which means it supports Linux, Windows, OS X, etc.
But, for the Android, the Kodi’s team has not brought many new features and Kodi 17 is likely to be no official support. But there is an alternative, we will know the SPMC.
the SPMC is a Kodi fork for Android which is maintained by Koying programmer who announced in December his departure from the project Kodi due to not agree with other project colleagues.

Now responsible for the SPMC (Semper Media Center) returned to pick up the project and released the latest build can be downloaded on the official website.
the version of SPMC, now available, is based on Kodi 16.1 and brings obviously several optimizations for Android devices, particularly NVIDIA Shield Android TV box.
